History is about people and events. There is history about countries, wars, ethnic groups (Black History), entertainment, music and sports. If you like learning about things such as politics, war and culture, history is probably one of your favorite subjects in school.
Many people who major in history go on to become lawyers, judges, writers, professors, and politicians. Sometimes there is confusion between history and political science. While they can be closely related, political science is a social science where students study government and international relations.
There are plenty of opportunities for history buffs who do not want to attend college. Public service, sales and administrative jobs can be lucrative and rewarding.
